The Dominion Cinema is a stunning 1938 Art Deco building, situated in Morningside, Edinburgh. Celebrating over 85 years, the Dominion is Edinburgh's only independent cinema.

We have welcomed the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Dame Judith Dench, Julie Walters, Cary Grant, Steve Martin, Jude Law, John Hurt, Stephen Fry, Billy Connolly, and Steve Coogan who have all walked up the Red Carpet and have been greeted by the Cameron Family.

Children's Birthday Screenings

Maximum fun for the kids and less hassle for you!

Exclusivity of our Red Star screen is £295 for a children's birthday screening and includes the following package:

Invite up to 20 children, with 2-3 supervising adults

Sofa and armchair seating, with footstools & side tables

Pick from either a fruitshoot, bottle of water, or a soft drink for the children

A small sweet or salted popcorn each

Upgrade to a new release? Add £40, and you can book our Gold Four screen to watch the most recent release, as long as it is playing at the time of your event at our cinema.

Adult Private Hire

A brilliant way to have fun with family and friends, making the perfect birthday, anniversary, or special occasion treat!

Exclusivity of our Red Star screen is £25pp, based on paying for a minimum of 16 guests. This includes the following package:

Invite up to 22 guests, and enjoy sofa seating, side tables and footstools.
A film from our extensive collection,
A Glass of Prosecco on arrival, with a 15 minute reception,
A glass of wine, beer or soft drink for during the film,
&
Pringles Snacks

We can also have any additional drinks and snacks that you have pre-ordered set up on your arrival including hot dogs, popcorn, cocktails, ice cream, and additional wine and beer.

Hen Parties

We welcome all Hen Parties to kick start the celebrations with our 11am slot on a Saturday or Sunday. This time slot will allow your group to watch a fun classic, such as Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia, or Grease!

Looking to entertain your clients or employee's? We can offer your guests exclusivity of any of our screens, with luxury sofa and armchair seating, side tables, and quality picture and sound.

Choose from a classic film favourite from our extensive collection, the latest blockbuster, or your own film choice.

We have hosted film premiere's, film festivals, charity nights, cast & crew screenings, special Q&A's, and many more. A few companies that we have worked with are Aston Martin, Standard Life, Scottish Widows, Apex Hotels, and Fox International.

With over 85 years in the cinema industry, the Dominion Cinema makes the perfect luxury Art Deco venue to host your next big event.

First Class & Gold One Screen – capacity 201

Our First Class section can hold up to 131 guests and has a selection of reclining sofa and armchair seating, all with privacy screens and side tables. Our upper section of the venue can hold up to 70 guests on two seater sofas, with side tables.

We can create bespoke drink and snack packages and have these set up for your arrival. Prices start from £1200 plus VAT.

Gold Two Screen – capacity 61

Our Gold Two screen can accommodate up to 61 guests and has a mix of sofa and armchair seating with footstools and side tables. Prices start from £590 plus VAT.

We can display your company’s logo on the big screen as your guests arrive, and we can set up any drinks and snacks packages for your guests to enjoy.
