The Dominion Cinema is Edinburgh’s only independent and family run cinema. Celebrating over 85 years in business, we strive to offer our patrons exceptional service, luxury seating, comfort and a quality cinema experience.

The Dominion Cinema opened on 31st January 1938 by Captain W Cameron, screening its first movie “Wee Willie Winkie” with Shirley Temple. It was designed in an Art Moderne style, by Edinburgh architect T. Bowhill Gibson.

The Dominion has seen many changes through the years, including conversion to four screens, plus a private screening lounge.
